Mark Cavins is a valued member of our firm, where he displays a high level of excellence, compassion and commitment in his practice, focusing on Civil Litigation, Civil Appeals, Probate, Trusts and Estate Planning.

Mr. Cavins is a long time resident of Brevard County.  His father, a Major in the Air Force, was stationed at Patrick Air Force Base shortly after Mr. Cavins was born.  Mr. Cavins attended Brevard County schools, including Melbourne High School and continues to reside here today.  He is also committed to Brevard County and has made every effort to remain local. He attended Eastern Florida State College and after obtaining his Associates Degree, went on to the University of Central Florida where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice.  Mark went to law school at Barry University School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate and graduated in the top third of his class.  Attending local schools has allowed Mr. Cavins to stay in the community while achieving his lifelong goal of becoming an attorney.  Additionally, while attending law school Mr. Cavins worked in the local community aiding and assisting the sick and elderly. 

After passing the Bar, Mr. Cavins joined the Law Office of David A. Baker, P.A. where he continues to learn and grow while having the good fortune to serve the community that has provided him with such tremendous opportunities.Mr. Cavins litigation experience includes Landlord/Tenant cases that include H.O.A.s and private parties, and numerous other matters in both small claims and circuit courts. Mr. Cavins handles bankruptcy and foreclosure matters. Mr. Cavins also has experience handling appellate cases before the 5th District Court of Appeal.

Mr. Cavins successfully appealed a case to the 5th District which potentially renewed claims for those with loved ones whose remains were mishandled but did not discover the issue until after the statute of limitations would normally have run out. See Kendron v. SCI Funeral Services of Florida, LLC, 230 So.3d 636 (Fla. 5th DCA, 2017)

Mr. Cavins is licensed by the Florida Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Cavins is also a member of the Elder Law Section and the Real Property, Probate and Trusts Law Section of the Florida Bar. Mr. Cavins is also a member of the Brevard County Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division of the Brevard County Bar Association.
